The best Shopify social proof apps in 2026, honestly compared

social-proof · comparisons

Ten social proof apps for Shopify compared on price, free tiers, features and review counts — with every figure taken from the vendor's own page. Including the ones that beat ours.

Disclosure: we make one of the apps on this list. Rushly is ours. It does not win most of the categories below, and we have said so where it loses. If you would rather read a comparison written by someone with no stake in it, that is a reasonable instinct — the figures here are all sourced to the vendors’ own pages so you can check any of them yourself.

All figures checked 31 July 2026. Prices and review counts move. Every number below comes from the app’s Shopify App Store listing or the vendor’s own pricing page, never from another roundup — several widely-circulated figures for these apps are out of date.

Two things worth knowing before you read any other list

Some widely-cited “best Shopify social proof apps” lists include apps that are not on the Shopify App Store. TrustPulse appears in several. It has no Shopify listing — it works on Shopify only if you paste an embed snippet into your theme code. That may be fine for you, but it is not an app install, and a list that does not mention the difference has not checked.

The apps that dominate search are not the apps that dominate the App Store. ProveSource, Nudgify, Fomo and WiserNotify have the most content and the most “alternative” pages online. On Shopify they have 84, 50, 125 and 9 reviews respectively. The apps merchants actually install in volume — Care Cart at 986, Qikify at 567 — barely publish anything.

Read the dashes as “not documented on the vendor’s own feature list”, not as “the app cannot do this”. Absence from a marketing page is not evidence of absence from the product.

Note the shape of that table. Most of these apps are notification-stream products — a popup slides in saying someone in Berlin just bought something. Rushly is not. It has no purchase popups and no review notifications at all; it does counters and indicators embedded in the page. If you want the popup stream, seven apps here do it and ours does not.

The apps

Vitals — 2,788 reviews, $29.99/mo

Not really a social proof app. It is a bundle of 40+ tools where social proof is one feature among many. If you were going to install five separate apps anyway, the maths works. If you only want social proof, you are paying for 39 things you will not use. Strength: enormous review base and one bill instead of five. Limitation: its own feature list does not itemise a purchase-notification ticker, so do not assume it replaces a dedicated app.

SP Sales Pop up Social Proof (Care Cart) — 986 reviews, $6.99/mo

The most-reviewed dedicated option, Built for Shopify, and the only app here with serious multilingual support (9 interface languages) available on every tier including free. Strength: breadth — low stock bars, sold counters, trust badges, free shipping bar, sticky cart. Limitation: the free tier says “then usage-based charges” past 500 visitors/month, so a growing store can start incurring costs without deliberately choosing a paid plan. Read that before relying on the free tier.

SalesPop (Relay Commerce) — 881 reviews, $29/mo

The most sophisticated targeting in this list: A/B testing, geolocation, segmentation, plus Checkout and Customer Accounts extensions and named integrations with Klaviyo, Attentive, Judge.me and others. Strength: control. Limitation: priced by sessions, so the bill grows with your traffic — and its Starter session cap is listed as 1,000 on its own pricing page and 2,000 on its App Store listing. Ask before you buy.

Qikify Sales Pop up & Proof — 567 reviews, $6.99/mo

A perfect 5.0 across 567 reviews, which is rare. Bundles sales pops with a broader popup toolkit — email capture, exit intent, countdowns, announcement bars. Strength: rating consistency and a genuinely free forever tier. Limitation: English only, and no low-stock widget or A/B testing in its listed capabilities.

Sales Popup Autoketing — 541 reviews, $9.99/mo

Flat $9.99, no traffic metering. Strength: predictable bill. Limitation: its free tier reads “1,000 views only once”, and we could not confirm whether that renews monthly or is a one-time credit. Clarify before depending on it.

FOMO Sales Pop Up (SnapSell) — 171 reviews, free

Confirmed by both its listing and the vendor’s page: no paid plan exists. Strength: it is free, with 171 reviews at 4.9. Limitation: free products can change or be discontinued, and there is no paid tier to escalate to. Note this is a different company from Fomo below, despite the name.

Fomo — 125 reviews, $25/mo

One of the oldest names in the category. Strength: a deep rule engine and 100+ integrations if you run a complex stack. Limitation: the only app here with no free tier at all, metered at 8,000 notifications/month on the $25 plan, and cross-platform rather than Shopify-native.

ProveSource — 84 reviews, $29/mo

Strength: a genuinely generous free-forever tier at 1,000 visitors/month, which is the most generous here alongside Nudgify. Limitation: the paid step is steep — $29/mo — and its free tier shows ProveSource branding.

Nudgify — 50 reviews, $9/mo

Strength: free forever to 1,000 impressions, then $9/mo, plus automatic translation into 32 languages and the widest platform support here. Limitation: the lowest rating in this list at 4.3, and impression metering means the bill scales with traffic.

WiserNotify — 9 reviews, $5/mo

Cited constantly as a leading alternative in other roundups. On Shopify it has nine reviews. Strength: cheapest paid entry at $5/mo and a 1,000-visitor free tier. Limitation: very little Shopify-specific track record to judge it on.

Rushly — 5 reviews, $5.99/mo (ours)

We are the least-reviewed app on this page by a wide margin, we have no free tier when eight of these ten do, and our $5.99 is barely under Care Cart’s and Qikify’s $6.99 — both of which have a free tier and over a hundred times our reviews. If review count is how you pick, do not pick us.

What we do differently: every number Rushly shows is a real cached event from your store. Live viewers means actual concurrent sessions. Sold today means your real order count. When nobody is viewing, we show nothing. We also do not do purchase popups or review notifications at all — Rushly is counters and indicators, which is a narrower product than most of this list.

What to actually check before you install any of these

  1. Does it use your real data? Install on a quiet store and watch. If a “live visitors” counter shows 20-something people on a store with no traffic, it is generating a number, not measuring one. This takes two minutes and tells you more than any review.
  2. How does the pricing meter? Flat monthly, or per impression, per session, per visitor? Metered pricing means your bill grows with success. Care Cart’s and Qikify’s tiers key off your Shopify plan; ProveSource, Nudgify, SalesPop and Fomo meter on traffic.
  3. Is the free tier hard-capped or does it bill over? Care Cart’s explicitly charges past the cap. Qikify’s does not document what happens. These are different products at 501 visitors.
  4. Does it need a theme app block? Most of these need you to add a block in the theme editor. If it does not appear on your storefront after installing, that step is usually why.
  5. What does it do to page speed? Every one of these adds a script. Check before and after.
